As you know, Sunday the 4th of July 2021 is marked on the American calendar as the national Independence Day, which is just upon us. This yearly festival of nationhood recognizes the entry of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Legislature on July 4, 1776. There is a rich history of meaningful events contributing to the struggles faced to give the national independence. However, this blog will keep it simple to enlighten you on how this special day is celebrated.

Independence Day is usually celebrated with firecrackers, marches, grills, festivals, fairs, picnics, ball games, family get-togethers, political addresses, and functions. Aside from different public and private occasions praising the set of experiences, which led to the importance of celebrating independence. All in all, this day brings people together to value the nature of the independent lives we live.


Americans proudly shoot fireworks on the night of 4th July. Fireworks symbolize victory, a bright end of a dark phase to a new beginning; thus, fireworks are an adopted aspect of the national celebration. The lighting of fireworks takes place across the state, bringing people together to watch the festivity of lights. Songs as sung in addition to the firework displays, like the national anthem accompanied by “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “God Bless America,” “Columbia the Gem of the Ocean,” and “America the Beautiful.”


The United States’ National Independence Day Parade is essential to liven the atmosphere across the country. Many people come together to watch this celebratory act. Thus, it is common to find such processions on the fourth of July.


A typical Independence Day- Barbecue. This is believed to be ideal for such an event. People come together to celebrate eating American food with their friends and family. Alongside barbecues there are burgers, pasta salads, hotdogs, and more to complete the list of delicacies that are prepared for the day. One can be invited as family or a neighbor to a backyard barbecue party.


Baseball is a popular sport commonly played in the United States, Hence on Independence Day, this sport is added to the list of activities performed on day. People spend time playing baseball as they find this simple activity more relaxing.

Raising the Flag

The afternoon gun salute, "salute to the Union," and the honoring of the American flag is crucial to show appreciation of the Day, which screams, 'I am proud to be independent.' A gunshot in every state of the country is fired, while Americans hang the flag.

Adorning the three colors

Wearing make-up dressing in Blue, White and Red adds to the feeling and importance of national Independence Day. On Independence Day, some people go the extra mile to show how proud this day makes them feel by adorning themselves in such colors.
